Harriett and Ralph Kaplan Estates Assisted Living will host a special presentation featuring Dr. Jennifer Pilcher, a highly respected expert in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and the founder of Clear Guidance. The session, entitled “Navigating the Transition: A Guide for Families Moving Loved Ones into Memory Care Assisted Living,” will take place on May 8. The event will include a Q&A session and the opportunity to meet residents, families, and staff members. Dr. Jennifer Pilcher is the 2023 recipient of the President’s Award for Leadership and the Outstanding Chapter Member Award from the Aging Life Care Association.

Dr. Pilcher will address key aspects families need to consider when transitioning a family member or friend into memory care living. She will discuss the specialized care environment, emphasizing safety and security, staff expertise, and the importance of individualized care plans.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Pilcher visit our campus and speak candidly about transitioning a loved one family member or friend to assisted living memory care living,” said Andrea Hillel, Executive Director of Kaplan Estates. “Jennifer is an expert in navigating complex issues facing families transitioning into memory care assisted living.”

The Legacy Memory Care Assisted Living apartments at Kaplan Estates offer specialized tools for residents living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Through the use of innovative technology such as the ABBY and the IN2L, the renowned Music & Memory curriculum, therapeutic gardens, and a highly trained staff, the memory support assisted living programming has met with great success.

A Q&A session will follow Dr. Pilcher’s remarks, along with refreshments and tours of the new space. The event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is recommended as space is limited. To RSVP or request more information, please call Samantha Rihbany at 774-218-6533 or email srihbany@legacylifecare.org. Kaplan Estates is located at 240 Lynnfield Street in Peabody.
